The guys at Eepybird have done it again. Here's their latest Diet Coke/Mentos experiment.
I recently downloaded Microsoft's Windows Live Writer, and I'm testing its capabilities. The next few posts will likely be tests like this one.
Is this a good thing? Sure it is. And it's a very big thing, too.
Meghann has been saving up to buy a car, and she finally saved enough that she felt good about wading out into the minefield that is the used car market. This thing's a real peach, too. Power everything, sunroof, 6 disk CD changer, etc....and it all works like new.
But the car isn't the point. The fact that it's Meghann's car is the point. Little baby Meghann, who fell asleep on my chest in Huntsville 18 years ago, just bought her first car. Starting kindergarten was one thing. Graduating from high school and buying a car....
I'm feeling just a smidge older than I did yesterday.
Cheers!
So, the interview went well. There's still some talking to do, but the general idea is that I'll start taking on clients in September: just a few per week on Mondays, building to @ 10 cases or so. The position is "Resident". When I finish the M.A. and have the limited license in hand, I'll be able to take on a larger caseload at the full compensation SCC gives per case (it's a percentage thing, so some cases pay more and some pay less). Then, for the remaining year I'm on staff at Livonia, I'll continue to build a caseload at SCC.
There are quite a few opportunities for learning and service with SCC. I'll post a bit about that later.
Cheers!
Yes, I got my chain yanked more than once on Sunday over Boston's pathetic showing at Comerica. I'm sure I'll hear more about it Wednesday, too. That's all right. If the Sox have to get swept by somebody, I'd rather it was the Tigers than the "Dark Side". So, that puts Detroit in first by a full game over the Tribe. Pretty nifty.
Cheers!

You may have noticed a couple of new buttons on this page.
This first one tells you if I'm online with Skype. I've mentioned Skype before. It's a really cool, free program. No spyware, or adware. I've been using it to talk (with video!) to Drew Fralick while he's in China. I can also use it to call any telephone in the world. If you have Skype, you can call me when that first button says I'm online. Just click it!
The other button is a "Last.fm" radio station. If you haven't discovered Last.fm yet, I highly recommend checking it out. Click the "play" button and give it a listen. Fair warning: I didn't hand select the music you'll hear, so there's no guarantee that everything will be as pure as driven snow.
Cheers!

Not a lot has changed.
It looks as though I'll have enough clinical hours to avoid having to take an additional semester of clinical classwork. That's some very good news. I'll likely finish the actual contact hours in late August.
Additionally, my MFT supervisor has invited me to come to the Samaritan Counseling Center for an interview this coming Monday. He surprised me a couple of months ago by stating that he felt comfortable enough with my clinical work to see about bringing me on board at SCC, even though I'm not finished with the degree yet. If he and another director at SCC agree, then I'll be given a caseload of a few clients per week who are unable to pay the center's standard rate. I'll be paid a small sum for my work, plus my supervising sessions will be gratis. That's good news, too.
So, there it is for now. Just a quick catch up.
Cheers!
